LDSLearning.com Newsletter

May 2008

Welcome to the May issue of the LDSLearning.com newsletter.

This month we want to introduce you to a great LDS artist whose works have always been about encouraging good works and teaching others through her art.

She is a folk artist who has been greatly influenced by her belief in God and her religion. The majority of her work is done in pen, ink and watercolor.

Kaye graduated from Brigham Young University in 1989 with a
BFA degree in Design-Illustration. In 1994 she published her first prints. Her desire is to produce affordable art that reflects Christian values.

Kaye was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ruth and Montell E. Mangum. She is the second of three daughters. She grew up in Salt Lake City and married the boy next door. They are the parents of eight children and grandparents of thirty-six. Her life has been varied, full and wonderful.

From 1996 to 1999 she served a mission with her husband in Brazil. After returning to the US, she spent three years producing and illustrating six pocket-sized story-booklets based on heroes in the Book of Mormon.

Interactive Scripture Study

One struggle that many of us have is learning the best ways to study the scriptures. We believe that there is not just one way for everyone to study the scriptures but we do know that there has been a lot of research that has gone into determining some of the best ways to learn.

This interactive CD-ROM teaches scripture study techniques to help you get more from your personal or gospel doctrine scripture study. Includes skill-building activities.

Interactive Scripture Study will help you be a
better gospel learner!

  • Mark your scriptures for increased understanding
  • Ask questions to visualize stories and ponder doctrines
  • Understand scripture language for greater insight
  • Overview verses, chapters, and books to see the big picture

"One of the program's strongest points is its simplicity in everything from the graphics to the language and concept. The program . . . would likely most appeal to people who would like to get serious about scripture study but have not quite figured out how to approach it to make it a powerful learning experience. . . . But even skilled scriptorians may learn new skills." Excerpt from a review of "Interactive Scripture Study" by the Deseret News
